About Melanie Takefman

laikeecropI have been a writer and an activist for as long as I can remember. Through it all, I’ve lived in six different countries, hence the name of my blog.

In 2003, I moved from my hometown of Montreal to Israel, a crazy but stimulating place, where I am never bored and always find juicy material for my writing.  I started this blog in 2011 as I embarked on my fifth international adventure in Athens, Greece, where my husband Aharon researched his doctorate in archaeology.

When I’m not blogging or pursuing other writing projects, I work as a public relations and communication strategist, most recently at Kenes International and previously at the Association for Civil Rights in Israel. I have been involved in many projects, groups and campaigns aimed at promoting human rights around the world, both professionally and as a volunteer.

Aharon and I are now back in Israel with our two young sons.

I am currently completing my first book.
